Probabilmente i re dei videogiochi, forse insieme agli RPG, da sempre i videoguìiochi più amati sono quelli incentrati sugli sport. E ovviamente a farla da padrone è il calcio, lo sport più amato e seguito al mondo. In questi videogiochi che altro non fanno che simulare discipline sia di squadra che individuali in cui il giocatore prende attivamente il controllo degli atleti/piloti durante le competizioni, Si trovano tutti gli sport:
Vdal baseball, alfootball americano, golf, hockey, pallacanestro, skateboarding, tennis, wrestling e tanti altri ancora.
Non sono rari i casi in cui allo sport si associano elementi RPG o comunque manageriali.
